The game remained tied at 0-0 until the fifth inning as Kiwoom’s Jang Jae-young and LG’s Casey Kelly pitched well. After Kiwoom failed to score in the top of the fifth, LG attacked in the bottom of the fifth. Leadoff hitter Moon Bo-kyung took Jang Jae-young’s five-pitch 131 km/h curveball for a solo home run over the right field fence.
After Moon’s home run, LG immediately added another run when Park Dong-won doubled to left field, and after a sacrifice bunt by Kim Min-sung, Park scored when Park Hae-min came to bat. Park Hae-min followed with a stolen base to put runners on second and third, and Moon Sung-joo followed with a double to bring in Park Hae-min to make it 3-0 LG.
But Kiwoom answered right back in the top of the sixth. Jeon Byung-woo drew a straight bunt, Kim Dong-heon singled to left, and Kim Jun-wan drew another straight bunt to load the bases. Kim Hye-sung singled home Jeon Byung-woo to make it a one-run game.
The LG bench decided to pull Kelly and bring up Kim Jin-sung when he suddenly looked shaky, but Kim lost another run when he walked Ronnie Dawson on a straight grounder. In the next at-bat, Song Sung-moon’s sacrifice fly brought home Kim Jun-wan to tie the score at 3-3. LG then brought in Ham Deok-ju to save the day.
In the bottom of the sixth, leadoff hitter Austin Dean was ejected for protesting a strike call. Austin watched three pitches against Jang Jae-young, and his discomfort was evident from the second strike, and when umpire Song Soo-geun called a four-pitch fastball low to the body for a strike, Austin began to lash out at the umpire. 메이저사이트
As he continued to protest, the umpire called for his ejection, and Austin threw off his helmet to show even more anger. Austin’s ejection was his 22nd of the season and 12th as a player. Head coach Yeom Kyung-yup walked out of the dugout to inquire about the call, but it was not overturned. Austin returned to the dugout, seemingly unable to shave off the minutes.
