‘The wait is over’ Man Utd youth GK to Crystal Palace…’HERE WE GO’

Dean Henderson, 26, is leaving Manchester United for good after all.

European transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the transfer on Sunday (July 27), tweeting “HERE WE GO” with the words “Henderson moves to Crystal Palace. An agreement has been reached and a medical will be completed today. He completes his move from United to Palace.”

“United will receive a package of £20 million, including an add-on. A sell-on clause has also been inserted.”

Henderson came through the United youth ranks and has been with the club since 2011. He has since gone on four loan spells to develop, most notably at Sheffield United. In 2018-19, he helped Sheffield United win promotion with 41 clean sheets in 46 games in the English Championship (second tier) and 21 clean sheets in the English Premier League (EPL), followed by a breakout season in 2019-20 with 33 clean sheets in 36 games (13 clean sheets).

Henderson returned to United ahead of the 2020-21 season with expectations of being the No. 1. However, he was overshadowed by David de Gea, and didn’t get much playing time. He made just 13 appearances in the EPL in 2020-21. The 13 games were a temporary opportunity due to De Gea’s maternity leave. He didn’t play a single game in 2021-22.

Henderson opted for another loan ahead of last season. He joined promotion side Nottingham Forest on loan and played 18 games. However, he suffered a thigh injury midway through the season and was ruled out for the season.

With De Gea’s departure ahead of the 2023-24 season, there was some speculation that Henderson could take over as the first-choice goalkeeper, but he has another contender. United signed Andre Onana from Inter Milan. As a result, Henderson was benched for three consecutive EPL games. 바카라사이트

Two years before his contract expired, he decided to leave. His destination is Palace. Palace are in 10th place with one win, one draw, and one loss in their last three games. The wait was finally over.
